Quality Circle Projects

 Quality Circle activities I did during my Maters in Computer Applications (MCA) Degree in Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE).

This post would give is few of the Quality Circle activities I did during my Maters in Computer Applications (MCA) Degree in Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE). Initially I was leading one team and later coordinating all the teams.

The below are the list of QC (Quality Circle) teams and the areas they worked 

 Dynamic Aqua: Lack of World class soft skills among students. (II MCA)

Beacons :Lack of Confidence among Tamil medium students.(III BE)

BEAVERS:Lack of Effective utilization of Library.(III BE)

Calibers :Lack of Knowledge sharing among budding engineers.(III BE)

Apart from these there were few other teams who worked on issues such as

Motivation towards higher studies, Environmental Awareness etc.

List of QC activities done by students in Quality Circle Projects

English Corner (Dynamic aqua and Zenith): (a weekly edition) in all department 

notice boards and in the class notice boards. By this, students and staff members are exploring their English Language skills.

A Word a day( Dynamic aqua and Zenith): Each student has to write and explain the 

meaning of a word and  its usage in the sentences before the class starts which motivate self-learning and knowledge sharing

Language lab(Zenith): Every week a period was dedicated for English lab and we had an experience of learning using audio visual aids.

Group discussion (Team MASCOT): Every week a period was dedicated for Group Discussion and 

students were divided in to groups to discuss both technical and social topics 

by this, students and staffs are exploring their Basic English skills.

Student Lectures 

Student Lectures (JIRKS): Students were given opportunity to address their peers and 

make presentations to ensure practical learning.

 In MCA batch to work as Unit with shared responsibilities  Quality Circle teams were given responsibilities as shown

o Symposium ( by Team MASCOT)

o Interview special(by Dynamic Aqua)

o IT corns(by JIRKS)

o GRE words(by zenith)

o Company profiles(by Symbiosis)

o Quality circles awareness(by Dynamic Aqua).

O Tech tips (by JIRKS) 

these are few programs Organized by various quality circle Teams.

by doing this, students harnessed their skills by participating in various Symposia, 

they developed their technical skills as well as soft skills which will bridge the gap 

between the academia and the industrial expectations and improve the placement 

further.

Case study presentation of Dynamic Aqua QC on soft skills development
